ZACK HIRT
Our Co-Owner/Executive Chef, the late Zack Hirt, worked in the food service industry for 20+ years. His interest in cooking and being creative in the kitchen began early on in his childhood. Zack worked at the Mustard Seed Market, Piatto (under Roger Thomas), The Bistro on Main, Crave, and the Amber Pub. His love for Latin inspired cuisine led him to open Nuevo in Akron in 2014 and a second location in Cleveland. One of the kindest souls you would ever meet, Zack enjoyed teaching his kitchen staff the importance of passion in the restaurant industry. Although Zack is no longer with us, our dedicated staff, Chefs, and Zack’s family all work daily to preserve his legacy.
Lisa Hirt, Co-Owner
Co-Owner, Lisa, is currently a Registered Dietitian. She has been trained in food service management, food safety, and clinical nutrition. She is passionate about creating healthy options for all to enjoy and her favorite cuisine just happens to be Mexican. Email Lisa
Aaron Redmond, General Manager
Mitchell Gurnsey, Executive Chef
Chef Mitch has been in the restaurant industry for over 15 years. With previous experience working in restaurants that range in style, he has developed an array of culinary skills and recipes. He and hone his ever expanding palate.
Jennifer Hirt, Event Coordinator & Pastry Chef
Jennifer has been in the hospitality industry for 20+ years. She is an extremely talented pastry chef and creates all baked goods for Nuevo. Jennifer also creates beautiful wedding cakes and specialty desserts, you name it, she can make it! Currently, Jennifer plans all weddings and large events in our second floor private Lakeside Event Space. She also assists in off-site caterings and events. Email Jennifer
